Info for parents
Joining a Brigade group (known as a "company") is a great way for your daughter or son to make lots of new friends and take part in exciting activities. Companies are run by fully-trained volunteer leaders, who are all DBS-checked (formerly CRB-checked) and each group has designated first aiders. All companies meet in safe environments, such as churches and schools, and are covered by insurance. GB has a social media policy leaders adhere to.
Each company charges a weekly, monthly or termly amount to cover the cost of activities and refreshments and this amount varies. Companies often offer a discount if more than one girl attends from the same family. There is also an annual membership fee of £25, which gets paid to the Brigade Central Office, and covers the cost of administration and programme development.

Volunteers and leaders
Brigade is delivered by volunteers and thousands of adults across the country are involved in its work. Volunteers are always needed to support the work of our local groups working with children and young people, but also to help at one-off national events, working groups and projects.
Please contact us if you'd like to be involved as a volunteer.
‘Working with the girls each week is a real pleasure. Knowing they’re having fun and enjoying themselves and seeing them grow up, both physically and spiritually, makes all the hard work and effort worthwhile,’ says Jane Smith, Team Leader/Captain of 1st Dagenham group.
